Creating a Privacy Notice

This page shows you how to create a privacy notice and then review it on the current notice list.

Product: VerityLaw
Module: Privacy - Notices
Role: Information Officer, privacy operator, administrator
Difficulty: Beginner
Time: 5 to 10 minutes
Last Updated: 2026-03-10
Version: Current repo baseline

Before You Start

  • Sign in to the dashboard.
  • Decide who the notice is for before you open the form.
  • Have the notice title and body text ready.

What is this task?

This task creates a privacy notice from the current New Privacy Notice form. The list page is where you review drafts and published notices afterward.

When do you use this?

Use this task when you need to prepare a privacy-related notice for an audience such as all, management, or legal.

Where do you find it?

Start from: /dashboard/privacy/notices
Create route: /dashboard/privacy/notices/new
Button on list page: New Notice
Review route after save: /dashboard/privacy/notices

How to create the notice

  1. Open /dashboard/privacy/notices.
  2. Click New Notice.
  3. Enter Title.
  4. Enter Content.
  5. Choose Priority.
  6. Enter Audience.
  7. Click Create Notice.
  8. Wait for the app to return you to /dashboard/privacy/notices.
  9. Confirm the new notice appears in the list.

What should you verify on the list page?

The current Privacy Notices page is the review screen. Confirm the saved notice shows the right:

  • Title
  • Priority
  • Audience
  • Published
  • Created

The list also exposes Edit and Delete actions.

Important current-state note

The visible create form does not expose a publish date or publish button. Because the list page treats notices without Published dates as drafts, a notice created through the current form should be reviewed as a draft unless another workflow in your environment sets publication separately.

What if something looks wrong?

"I need to publish the notice immediately"

Why this happens: The visible create form does not show a publish control.

Fix: Do not promise an in-form publish step that is not on screen. Save the notice, then use the workflows actually available in your environment.

"I need to change the wording after save"

Why this happens: New notices often need review before wider use.

Fix: Use Edit from the notice list.
